ALDHELM WAY PILGRIMAGE PROGRAMME
SATURDAY 28TH MAY TO SATURDAY 4TH JUNE 2005
SATURDAY 28th May - MALMESBURY
5.00pm: The Pilgrimage begins with a procession through Malmesbury
and celebration of the Eucharist with the Bishop of Sherborne in Malmesbury
Abbey attended by the Pilgrim Group
and others. Meet at Malmesbury Abbey at 4.50pm and bring outdoor clothing
Pilgrim Group drives to Bradford-on-Avon and stays overnight
SUNDAY
29th May - BRADFORD on AVON and SHERBORNE
10.00am: Procession from the Church of St Lawrence to Holy Trinity,
Bradford-on Avon
and celebration of the Eucharist with the Bishop of Ramsbury and Bishop
of Sherborne.
Pilgrim Group drives to Sherborne and stays overnight.
6.30pm: Choral Evensong in Sherborne Abbey with the Bishop of
Sherborne
Each
day of the section of the Pilgrimage from Sherborne to Corfe Castle
begins and ends with worship at 10.00am and 5.00pm at the churches shown
at the stages on the Aldhelm Way. In addition to the churches at the
overnight stops, approximate times of visits to other churches on the
route are shown. Everyone is welcome to join the Pilgrim Group for individual
stages of the walk

Sherborne Abbey to St Mary & St James, Hazelbury Bryan
via St Lawrence, Folke (approx 11.30am)
Overnight in Hazelbury Bryan
TUESDAY
31st May (9 miles)
St Mary & St James, Hazelbury Bryan to St James, Milton Abbas
via Woolland Church (approx 11.30am) and All Saints, Hilton (approx
2.30pm)
Overnight in Milton Abbas
WEDNESDAY
1st June (6 miles)
St James, Milton Abbas to St John the Baptist, Bere Regis
Overnight in Bere Regis
THURSDAY
2nd June (9 miles)
St John the Baptist, Bere Regis to Lady St Mary, Wareham
via St Andrew, Bloxworth (approx 11.15am)
Overnight in Wareham
FRIDAY
3rd June (6 miles)
Lady St Mary, Wareham to St Edward the Martyr, Corfe Castle
Overnight in Corfe Castle
SATURDAY
4th June (5 miles)
St Edward the Martyr, Corfe Castle to St Aldhelm's Chapel
10.00am: The Pilgrim Group walks to the event site at Renscombe
Farm and then on to the final stage of the Pilgrimage to St Aldhelm's
Chapel to meet with the Archbishop of Canterbury.
Others
wishing to walk from Corfe Castle, are invited to arrange their timings
to arrive at Renscombe Farm in time for lunch and the full afternoon
programme.
